Details

Magento 2 one step checkout puts address, shipping, payment and order summary on one configurable checkout page, so shoppers can complete an order without moving between steps. This page covers the One Step Checkout extension for Magento 2, version 2.0.4, delivered as a digital download.

Magento 2 one step checkout features

  • Checkout-builder settings to shape the checkout layout
  • Address autocomplete integration
  • Shipping refresh and delivery options
  • Native payment-renderer islands with Alpine or Knockout engine selection

What is included

The download includes the One Step Checkout extension, version 2.0.4. Choose the edition that matches your store: Community, Enterprise or Magento Cloud.

Requirements

  • Magento 2.4.9 package line
  • PHP 8.3, 8.4 or 8.5 and module Composer requirements
  • Install maxmind-db/reader:^1.11 for the included GeoIP integration
  • Optional OneStepCheckoutHyva adapter requires a licensed regular Hyvä Theme; strict Alpine CSP checkout is not certified

Testing before launch

Google, shipping and payment services need merchant credentials and provider-specific testing. Provider accounts and renderer compatibility require separate sandbox acceptance before you go live.

Change Log

Version 2.0.5 – October 24, 2026

New

  • A customer user guide now covers installation with Composer, configuration, usage and troubleshooting.

Fixed

  • Adyen 11.3.0 payment methods and connected terminals now reach the Adyen payment service, including payment methods that load late. Missing virtual cart settings no longer cause errors.
  • Authorize.net CIM 6.1.0 card and bank account methods no longer break checkout startup when they are not set up. Configured payment forms keep their layout.
  • Google address autocomplete now works when its script loads after checkout starts, for shipping and billing fields, without duplicate suggestions. Google failures no longer break the form, and selected addresses are kept when the field loses focus.
  • The Social Login sign-in panel on mobile is no longer pushed outside the screen. It is positioned correctly with either checkout engine.
  • Shipping estimates and saves in the Alpine checkout no longer show outdated rates, totals or payment methods. Failed estimates can be retried, unavailable rates cannot be selected, and carrier and service codes are kept when saving.
  • Regenerated RequireJS configuration files now update the Magento integrity record when this checkout is enabled. The browser no longer blocks them, so the Knockout checkout loads correctly.
  • The Knockout checkout keeps guest payment choices local until the email address is ready. This avoids early payment requests, HTTP 400 errors and full-screen loaders during startup.
  • The Knockout checkout no longer starts Stripe future-subscription and express-checkout widgets when Stripe has no configuration for them, which prevents startup errors. Configured Stripe widgets are not affected.
  • Payment diagnostics now recognize Magento family and Vault payment renderers and report methods offered by the server that have no matching renderer after a short wait. Hidden methods and late-loading recovery still work.
  • Refreshing the payment method list no longer leaves an endless loading spinner below a payment form that has already rendered.

Documentation

  • Added the Adyen, Authorize.net and TokenBase versions used by the merchant, native configuration steps and Composer lock deployment requirements.
  • Added checkout engine compatibility and setup for the Techimprovement default theme, all 28 local modules, Google, Social Login, payment renderers and UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL configuration.
  • Added RequireJS integrity recovery steps, including deployment, cache clearing and the limits of automatic regeneration.
  • Added a review of all 45 payment integrations listed for Hyva Checkout, with separate installation paths for this checkout and Hyva Checkout, release limits and sandbox acceptance steps.

Version 2.0.4 – October 19, 2026

New

  • A version number is now shown in the payment island and in the debug log, so you can confirm which version the store serves.

Fixed

  • Payment extensions that add parts to the checkout page, such as the Stripe mini cart country watcher, PayPal Braintree and Adobe Payment Services, no longer block the payment list from loading on One Step Checkout pages. The payment list starts correctly and retries modules that failed earlier.
  • A payment method that cannot appear in the payment list is now shown as Not available right now after 8 seconds if its script failed or was blocked, or after 20 seconds if its script is still loading. It disappears as soon as it displays. Other payment methods keep working.

Version 2.0.3 – October 19, 2026

Fixed

  • The payment list could stay on a loading message forever when its loader script ran after checkout had started, for example with merged or slow scripts, and the payment methods did not change afterwards. The checkout now starts the payment list when it is still idle three seconds after it is ready. If the loader script is missing, a message with a Try again option is shown instead of an endless spinner.

Version 2.0.2 – October 19, 2026

New

  • Payment methods can now undo their work if the order cannot be saved after the payment is authorized, for example by releasing card authorizations. Used by Techimprovement Split Payment 1.4.

Fixed

  • If a payment step failed after the order was saved, the Pay button became available again and a second click could place a second order. The checkout now opens the success page instead.

Version 2.0.1 – October 19, 2026

Fixed

  • The One Step Checkout settings page in the admin no longer shows a warning or missing settings when a payment module places its methods in an undeclared payment group. Such groups are now listed by their code, and empty groups are left out of the list of Other Payment Methods Without Browser Data.
